This flow is for voicing or refunding items that have already been paid for. If the item is on an an open tab follow the flow Voiding or refunding single items from a tab.
Press the "MORE" button on the EPOS view.
Press the "HISTORY" button.
Select the transaction containing the item you wish to void or refund. You can use the time and the amount of the transaction to help you identify it.
After selecting the transaction, confirm it contains the item you wish to void or refund, and press the 3 dots at the bottom of the right hand pane.
The transaction is made into an open tab. Press on the item that you wish to void or refund.
Select from the relevant option from the following:
- Void Item (Item Not Used) - this would be used if the item had not been used, such as it had been added to the tab in error
- Void Item (Item Used) - this would be if the item had been removed from stock, such as the wrong beer being poured
- Refund Item - this would be if the customer has already been served the item and it needs to be refunded to them. For a refund the item will remain on the bill and a new line item will be added for the refund.
Note: Refunds will show on the Z report at the end of each day, whereas voids will not. As such, for easier tracking we recommend to use refunds for staff food & drink rather than voids.
Select the relevant refund reason.
Select the payment type for the refund payment.
Press "ADD PAYMENT".
If the refund is a cash payment, the cash drawer will open for you to refund the customer.
If the refund is a card payment you will need to process a refund using your card machine.
Finally press done.
